Furthermore, the ACE surveyed personal trainers, group fitness professionals, and lifestyle and weight loss consultants and has released the top 10 fitness programs projected to be the most popular this year. The results include group classes like boot camp-style workouts, basic workouts and workouts that provide multiple benefits.
1. Boot camp workout: Boot camp workouts get their name from the military recruit training, which the initial training given to new military personnel. Boot camp workouts usually lead you through 10 high intensity strength and cardio exercises designed to challenge strength and endurance while burning lots of calories. The workout moves quickly, with little or no rest between exercises so that your heart rate stays up.

2. Zumba, Bollywood: Zumba, which “means to move fast and have fun,” in Spanish, classes started gaining popularity in the 1990s and have lately taken off; the classes were established by Colombian native Alberto “Beto” Perez, a celebrity fitness trainer and choreographer for International pop superstars. Zumba is inspired by the traditional cumbia, salsa, samba and merengue music Beto grew up with; he paired his favorite pulsating Latin rhythms with the red-hot international dance. Bollywood fitness refers to the Indian dance elements from well known Bollywood movies that incorporate rousing choreography. Also known as “Bollyrobics,” the workouts combine training of coordination, strength and stamina with a large amount of sensuality.

3. Ballroom dancing: Ballroom dancing routines set to rhythmic music aim to increase cardiovascular fitness. It's the dancing’s uninterrupted movement that raises your heart rate.

5. Circuit training. Circuit training blends strength training and cardiovascular activity at different intensities. Another plus: gyms can set up their own circuit for members to follow.

6. Kettlebell training. Kettleballs are iron weights traditionally used in Russia that develop whole body fitness and core strength. All of the weight is below the handle, so your core has to work hard to counteract the momentum.

10. Mix it up: People will combine low-intensity cardio or weight training on one day, followed by a high-intensity workout on another day.
