Picking the Right Pot

When decorating with flowers and other greenery, don’t underestimate the importance of the pot! Based on the styles and types of greenery you use, one pot may work well for your plant while another one does not compliment it at all. One example is the bonsai plant: look for a pot with warm, rich colors and an Eastern style. With a different plant such as the bamboo, you will want a different look for your pot (try a metal pot with chic designs). Before you come to a decision, look at several different styles, colors, and materials to make sure you get the best fit. Another quality to play around with is how big of a container you want. A gigantic pot often steals the show—which may be exactly what you want—while smaller pots give all the limelight to the greenery.

Decorating with a Maple Tree

Maple trees in nature are hearty, tall, beautiful trees. The Canadian flag is just one place that proudly displays the maple leaf. The leaf’s design makes it uniquely identifiable. To duplicate this in a silk maple tree is something of a craft miracle. Also, the amount of leafage on silk maple trees is much greater than with most other tree types. A great benefit to this feature is that it looks more treelike; the disadvantage is that eventually someone will have to dust off each one of these leaves. Since cleaning the leaves of the silk tree realistically usually only happens once or twice a year, one should not judge this to be too much of a bad thing.

Interior Decorating Notebooks

If you are passionate about interior decorating, there will always be more ideas for you to try. However, as we all know, life happens: projects get pushed to the side for one reason or another. Fortunately, that does not mean there is nothing you can do to get ready. An important step you can take is to create a place where you can record your interior design ideas. This way, you can keep track of all your thoughts when you do not have time to immediately work on them. Additionally, write down different design topics, projects, or questions that you want to learn the answer to. The other benefit writing it down is that sometimes it seems that your subconscious works on the idea even when you are not thinking about it.

Customizing Your Flower Designs

When you design with flowers, one of your objectives is to make the arrangement work with the space it belongs to. The reason for the bouquet should be the overruling factor when considering to design it. For example, when you are designing an arrangement for a funeral, there are some flowers that are natural choices because of their look and meaning, such as tulips and daisies in gentle colors. If the arrangement is meant to be for something fun, like a gift to a neighbor, include some informal and creative elements such as silk grass. For a more romantic or classy arrangement, use roses. For the perfect flower arrangement, always remember who the flower arrangement is for. When it comes to flowers, colors, and styles, think about what they would want. Remember that practice makes perfect, so keep on trying. It is especially easy if you are using silk flowers, since you can mix and match all you want without damaging the flowers.
