The phrase “artificial tree” most frequently conjures up the image of a pine tree. However, there are a huge assortment of silk trees available. The palm tree not only looks very different from the Christmas tree, it seems to belong to a totally different season and has a very different feel. Drying and Preserving Flowers: The Basics

Because flowers wilt within 2 to 3 weeks (and sometimes closer to 2 to 3 days), you will need to dry them once they are done being displayed. Two techniques for preserving flowers lead to two totally different looks—but neither is difficult to do. The more basic method is to dry your flowers by hanging them upside down. Make sure the place you dry your flowers is not too warm, has little light, and stays dry. Once your flowers are dried, you will want to place them in a display case or shadowbox so they do not get damaged by touch. Pressing flowers is another way to preserve them, though they will have a very different look from dried flowers. This method works best with very small, thin flowers or the individual flower petals of larger, shapelier flowers.

Silk Maple Trees

Some of the prettiest trees you can choose to decorate are maple trees. Maple trees are most noted for their maple leaf, which can be found on the Canadian flag. The shape and intricate detail of the maple leaf are practically inimitable. However, the quality of replication in silk maple trees is outstanding. Silk maple trees are very dense compared to other silk trees. A great benefit to this feature is that it looks more treelike; the disadvantage is that eventually someone will have to dust off each one of these leaves. However, this purging of dust, in all reality, need only happen once a year.

Desert Décor

Great home decorating invites surrounding environmental aspects into the home and makes the resident feel comfortable. Home decorating can take a unique approach in desert areas. Some greenery you can add to your décor include bear grass, cacti, and grass horsetails. Be creative with your desert décor by adding rock arrangements or sand. Most of these combinations will have a light red or orange feel. Consider choosing an artificial cactus instead of a genuine one, especially if young ones are around. They are not extremely dangerous, but it would not be a fun afternoon picking out the needles after a child has pulled a cactus plant on top of himself or herself.
